Cut, Copy, and Paste

Cut, Copy & Paste: Select text by holding the left mouse button down and moving the mouse cursor across the text you would like to copy, etc. Once selected, use keyboard shortcuts to quickly copy or cut text and then paste. Copy (CTRL - c) copies selected text. Cut (CTRL - x) moves selected text. Paste (CTRL - v) move...s or copies selected text. So first, either copy or cut text and then paste it to the new location.

Example: "Tommy fell the boat off, but was quickly rescued." We want to move the word off to its proper position in the sentence. So select the word 'off' and then hold down CTRL (on the keyboard) while also pressing the letter x (on the keyboard). This will mark the word 'off' as cut. Now left-click the mouse to the new location; in front of 'the'.

Once the blinking cursor is in the proper position, press CTRL (again) and simultaneously the letter v. This will move the previously selected and cut text. "Tommy fell off the boat, but was quickly rescued."

You can cut, copy and paste by using the Edit menu or by right-clicking. These keyboard methods are quite a bit faster. Consider this method if you do a lot of word processing and editing.
